How to Play

The Number Puzzle is a classic sudoku game on a nine by nine grid split into nine smaller boxes. The goal is to fill every empty cell with a digit from one to nine so that no number repeats in any row, any column or any of the small boxes. Some cells start filled, and those clues are where every solve begins. A good approach is to look for a row, column or box that is almost full and work out the single digit that fits the gap. Several difficulty levels let beginners start gently while experienced solvers push themselves, and undo and hint buttons help you recover from a slip. A timer tracks how long each grid takes, which gives you something to beat on your next attempt.

Controls

Click or tap a cell to select it, then click or tap a number to fill it. On a keyboard, number keys 1 to 9 fill the selected cell. Use the on-screen buttons to undo moves or get hints.

Tips

  1. Scan for rows or boxes with only one or two empty cells and fill those first.
  2. Check each digit against its row, column and box before placing it.
  3. Use the hint button sparingly so the harder grids still teach you something.
