Reds Winding Way

How to Play

Reds Winding Way is a tile-laying puzzle about building a path through the woods so that Red can reach Grandma's cottage. Each level gives you a fixed shelf of road pieces and a board dotted with trees that cannot be moved. Place tiles on empty squares, turn them to face the right way and link Red's starting point to the cottage door. Doors only open from the side their arrow points at, so the last tile often decides everything. Later boards add a second traveler who needs a route of his own, and the two paths are not allowed to cross. A hundred levels are spread across four woodland tiers, and there is never a timer, so each puzzle can be solved at an easy, thoughtful pace.

Controls

With the mouse, drag a tile onto an empty square, click a tile to turn it 90 degrees and drag it back to the shelf to remove it. On touch screens, drag to place and tap to turn. Esc pauses, and the Left Arrow and Right Arrow keys page through Level Select.

Tips

  1. Start at the cottage door and work backward, since its arrow fixes the final tile.
  2. Lay out the long straight pieces first and save the bends for tight corners.
  3. On two-path boards, route the longer journey first so the shorter one fits around it.
