How to Play

Hellforge: Demon Protocol is a side-scrolling run-and-gun action game spread across twenty missions in a grim industrial world. You push forward through factories and foundries packed with patrol soldiers, shielded troops, heavy gunners, mechanical hounds and furious berserkers, each type demanding a slightly different approach. Sixteen kinds of traps lie in wait, so watching the ground is as important as watching the enemy. Six weapons can be found along the way, and with only two weapon slots you will often have to choose what to carry. Armor, grenades and a shield add defensive options, and a well timed dodge can save you from a hit that seemed certain. Ten bosses stand in your path and later return as elite enemies. Checkpoints and three lives keep the difficulty fair while rewarding skillful play.

Controls

Move with A and D or the arrows, and jump or double jump with Space, W or Up. Aim with the mouse and fire with left click or J. E picks up or uses items, Q or 1 and 2 switch weapons, R reloads, Shift dodges, G throws a grenade, F raises the shield and P or Esc pauses. Touch controls appear on mobile devices.

Tips

1. Choose your two weapons to cover both close and long range.
2. Dodge through attacks instead of backing away from them.
3. Look for secret pickups in quiet corners between fights.
