How to Play

Hot Barrel Cats is a merge defense game with a sizzling twist. A horde of creeping fungus creatures called the Mildews marches along the road toward your gate, and the only defenders who can fire are the cats standing on the wall. Every shot heats a cat up, and once it gets too hot it jams and stops shooting until it cools down. That turns the battle into a constant rotation: pull overheated cats back down to the spawn zone, send fresh ones up to take their place and keep the wall firing. Dropping one cat onto its identical twin merges them into a stronger fighter, and a freshly merged cat starts completely cool, so merging at the right moment both strengthens and saves a defender. Sixteen carefully tuned levels each award up to three stars.

Controls

On desktop, drag cats with the mouse, or click a cat and then click its target. Esc pauses and M mutes. On mobile, drag with your finger, or tap a cat and then tap the target. Only wall cats shoot, so drag hot ones down to cool, and drop a cat on its twin to merge.

Tips

1. Rotate cats before they jam rather than after.
2. Merge an overheated cat with its twin to cool it instantly.
3. Keep the wall full so there is never a gap in your fire.
